AWARDS COMMITTEE
The Awards committee is responsible for encouraging, supporting and reviewing awards applications created by members. The committee will provide guidance on creating a book of evidence, awards categories, submission procedures and deadlines. The co-presidents shall chair the committee. Computer skills are necessary for at least one committee member.

FINANCE COMMITTEE
The chairperson and committee prepare the budget.
The Chairperson is the Treasurer. The committee consists of the Co-Presidents and Auditor.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
The committee communicates and maintains up-to-date membership status: new member, honorary, affiliate or other. The committee encourages new membership, reads nominating letters for vote, then welcomes and introduces new members to the club. Provides copy of Yearbook and reviews volunteer opportunities with the new member, passes the new member information on to the Yearbook Co- Chairpersons, Treasurer and Telephone/Email Committee.

HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE
The committee meets and greets members and guests and provides name tags at each meeting or event. Must arrive at 10:30.

PUBLICITY/PHOTOGRAPHY COMMITTEE
This committee is responsible for creating digital photographs of club meetings, events and projects. The committee is also responsible for writing and submitting articles publicizing club events or accomplishments when appropriate to publications such as The Mountain Mirror. The committee will make photographs available to club members for submitting awards. Computer skills are needed by at least one committee member.

WEBSITE EXPLORATORY SUBCOMMITTEE
An exploratory subcommittee to look into costs and development for our Lookout Mountain Beautiful Garden Club website. Reports to President.

SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE
The committee plans the special events of the club and oversees all fundraising projects. The committee shall meet with the Treasurer prior to the compiling and presentation of the budget at the April meeting. The Committee will determine the need of a fundraising project for the coming year. The committee shall include the Treasurer and the Co-Presidents.

SUNSHINE COMMITTEE
This committee encourages our club to express kindness to one another. We write notes, deliver flowers, visit those in need of care, and provide food for members who are ill or have lost a loved one.

TELEPHONE/EMAIL COMMITTEE
The committee call and email members each month about regular meetings and whenever special needs arise. They provide the monthly meeting number of RSVPs to the food chairman. One chairperson must be able to send emails.

YEARBOOK COMMITTEE
The committee is chaired by the First Vice President(s). The Second Vice President(s) compile required information (Programs, Locations and Food Committee). The Third Vice President(s) provide the list of members assigned to Committees (Administrative/ Gardening) and Projects (New/Ongoing). Deliver completed information to the First Vice President(s) by February. The Chairs will deliver the new yearbook to members at the March Meeting.

BEES, BIRDS, AND WILDFLOWER COMMITTEE
The chairperson and committee encourage planting for bees and butterflies for the availability of nectar and larvae foods. The committee promotes activities to encourage the care, interest and knowledge of birds. Lookout Mountain is a bird sanctuary. Club emphasis is a blue bird trail on the mountain. It also encourages the protection, planting, growing and identification of wildflowers in this area.

CONSERVATION AND ECOLOGY COMMITTEE
The committee educates on the interaction between living things, the environment and the protection and preservation of natural resources from pollution and misuse. Anti-litter and recycling are priorities.

FLOWER COMMITTEE
The committee’s purpose is to showcase the many important and beautiful aspects of flowers to members through education and creation. For each month create a simple seasonal bouquet, flower show design example or choose a flower of the month and highlight the facts and folklore for members. Feel free to share your favorite floral websites, books, nurseries, etc. too. Presentation 3 to 5 minutes.

HORTICULTURE, TREES AND SHRUBS COMMITTEE
The committee presents specimens of horticulture to the general meetings. It also encourages the club to study plants, their culture and use, and to make members aware of improved varieties of ornamental and edible plants. The committee shall promote tree and shrub planting.
